Design & Technology

Mission
Design & Technology (D&T) is to introduce the basic concepts of design and technology to the students of junior secondary level. They are motivated to perform design work with different materials and to apply their knowledge of “design” and “technology” in problem-solving activities. They learn to think and intervene creatively to improve quality of life. They must look for needs, wants and opportunities and respond to them by developing a range of ideas and making products and systems. They combine practical skills with an understanding of aesthetics, environmental and social issues, functions and industrial practices. As they do so, they explore & experience the dimension of aesthetic and creativity. Through the subject, all students can become discriminating and informed users / consumers of products, and become innovators.
